We use our expertise and state-of-the-art technology to transform your project into a tailor-made solution.
We use our expertise and state-of-the-art technology to transform your project into a tailor-made solution.
We have years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering. For example, our engineers have developed and designed drilling tools (mining / oil gas), systems, test stands and devices. We are familiar with the integration of hydraulic and electrical systems in devices with high temperature, pressure and vibration requirements.
“Using the professional CAD software Inventor from Autodesk, we will design from individual parts to complex assemblies.”

Development
For technical implementation, it is important to bundle all requirements and information in the specifications.
We then draw up the requirements specification, which describes the implementation of the project.
The requirements are analyzed by us or together with you and then solved using creative approaches and state-of-the-art methods.
Construction
Once the design requirements have been defined, we produce initial concepts in the form of design drawings.
We work with the professional 3D CAD software Inventor from Autodesk.
We use 3D CAD to define assemblies and interfaces and determine installation spaces.
Fail-safety verifications are carried out by calculation or FEM simulation.
We optimize until the result meets the requirements.
Different variants of the design can be created and prioritized in a further evaluation process.
In the detailed design phase, we then design the individual components and define tolerances for the production process.
If the parts are to be manufactured using 3D printing or CAD/CAM, we create a “digital twin”.
For conventional production, we create production drawings derived from the 3D models.
Technical drawings
We use both 2D(AutoCAD) and 3D CAD software(Inventor) to create drawings.
We usually use Inventor to create production drawings from the derived CAD models.
Our production drawings are created with expertise so that you can commission the production of parts independently.
Calculation and documentation
Our engineers at WLM Engineering have experience with conventional machining production methods as well as expertise with the various additive production methods (3D printing).
By expanding production to include 3D printing, we can print technical plastics such as PEEK, which offers interesting design and economic possibilities.
We will show you how you can save time and money with the help of additive manufacturing and for which of your components this type of production makes sense.
We would be happy to examine your product portfolio for the use of 3D-printed alternatives.
“With WLM Engineering, you have the ideal partner to outsource individual areas independently of time.”
Arne Mätzel Managing Director
WLM Engineering has the infrastructure to manufacture and assemble prototypes and small series in its own workshop.
We also have a competent network of suppliers to manufacture parts externally.
3D printing
At WLM Engineering, we use 3D printers with the SLA, DLP and FDM processes.
The selection of materials is extremely extensive and can be adapted to the requirements.
In technical terms, the printability of materials such as PEEK with our high-temperature printer should be emphasized here.
We are continuously expanding our 3D printer fleet and testing new materials in order to be able to offer our customers suitable 3D printing solutions.
Conventional production
Our workshop offers over 150 m² of space for the production of metal components using conventional milling machines and lathes.
Our trained specialists take on even the greatest challenges in order to meet all quality requirements for the component.
Hybrid components, i.e. combinations of 3D-printed plastic parts and machined metal parts, are a particular focus.
In addition, 3D-printed components can be processed using machining methods, for example to produce fits and surface roughness.
Simple components and machining operations can already be produced by us at this stage.
For more complex components, we work with partners with state-of-the-art machinery.
Assembly & test
From the idea to the finished design: our service portfolio ranges from development and design to the production of prototypes and small series.
Our clients are diverse and come from various industries.
